930 power steering

To be honest, Case PS of the day was more of a power steering assist. It was better than nothing, but not close to the JD and IHC power steering of the same era.
One thing on the CK Westerns is water was notorious for running down the steering shaft and into the gear box which ended up rusting the bottom bearings and making a somewhat marginal power steering system into a very serious Armstrong steering. To rebuild the gearbox is extremely difficult and pricey.
But to answer your question, albeit not great, the PS was sufficient. Bob

The power steering on the westerns with the chicken roost steering works pretty good, at least better than the row crop type. I had one ffor years and it steered very well.

Like the other poster said its a power assist that originally came out in the 500 in 1953. Works alright long as you are moving.

I hade a 1030 and I'll will say this, the steering is like the breaks as long as everything is like its supost to be it it works fine.
