930 questions

Well I just bought a 930 comfort king this morning from a neighbor. Ran when it was parked due to tire issues (calcium chloride) about 3 years ago. Its about 5 miles away and I want to tow it to my place (gravel roads no highway). I know it also has issues with the high low gear box. It won't go into either high or low range but the owner wasn't sure which one. I'm guessing the shifter fork slid out of place or there's a few bearings out in the range gears or both. Been there done that on two 400's. So what I'm wondering is should I put the range gear box in neutral and the 4 speed in neutral to tow? I'm not sure how much other stuff in the transmission is lubricated by the slinging of oil as the tractor is running which is why I'm asking.

The other thing that I'm wondering is where to check the transmission oil? I'm guessing it is under the breather above and to the left of the pto?

Manuals are on order.

Thanks,

Eli
