9400 combine

If your looking at a 9400 be sure to get a 92 or later with the bigger engine. You can still run 40 series corn heads and 200 grain heads on them.

We got a 1989 9400 in 1996. It was during the season so we kept the 216 platform from the 7700. Iirc it hooked up fine. I don’t remember using the feederhouse brackets to tip the header a bit. The 643 corn head had to be trimmed, well, cut away on the left side of feederhouse to make room for the reverser on the 9400. I don’t really remember using the header tip brackets on the corn head either. It seems the drive connectors with the roller chain wrapped around the sprockets didn’t align if the header was tipped. The next year we got a 693 corn head and 920 platform..

Thanks for the replies was not aware of engine difference aim to go with later sale headers another question are they metric or standard fasteners or mixed thanks crowspond

Yup have to move the post by the feederhouse hole with the older heads. I had to move on on an 8 row back when, to get it to clear for a 9600 the reverser would hit the post.
