970 powershift

My AGCO dealer took in a 970 powershift w/ a 70 Case loader. He let me bring it home to try. It has a big bucket and realy pushes lots of snow. However it makes a squeeling sound in reverse. Anyone have any idea what this could be ?

Squeeling in reverse is normal. Note good idea to always let engine be decelerating when changing gears an if you have not observed best time to change gears is when you feel jurk an momenterly a laboring sound in engine when pushing in clutch peedal.

My 1070 dose the same thing . I have been around this tractor from day it was new . But with being able to hear it i can't be for sure it's the same noise

Thanks for taking time to respond guys. It's nice to get 5 like answers because I'd really like to keep the 970.
Back in 1972 dads big tractor was a 1967 830 CK diesel(I STILL HAVE IT) Dad was interested in a new tractor so the Case dealer demoed a 970 and dad liked it.He ordered a new 1070. Teneco was pressuring our dealer to build a fancy new store the dealer didn't want to so Tenaco pulled his dealership. They wanted dad to take delivery of the 1070 from a dealer 50 miles away, so dad cancelled the order and never bought another Case.
I farm w/ AGCO and Versatile tractors now but have lots of J I Case tractors for light jobs and fun. When my dealer says "would you be interested in a nice 1972 970 w/ case 70 loader?" my thoughts went back 40 years to the 1070 that that never was. I'm keep this 970. Thanks again!!

You'll be happy with it. just be easy with the power shift in cold weather . Let her warm up good be for you take off and it will be just fine
