If you could find out how to contact Elmer who used to post this forum he could help you out, he was super sharp on DB problems, maybe someone on here has contact info. Check valves sticking and getting extremely bad wear on the plungers was a problem with the selectamatic valve as was latching valve sticking. There are two plungers located under a small cover on top of the RH axle housing that stick and need cleaned but be careful if you remove them as one has small parts which can be lost if not handled properly. It would be better if you had someone who is very familiar with that system as removal of that valve is no fun, the whole rockshaft assembly must be removed , all the linkage disconnected and removed , the front casting taken off, the oil pipes disconnected and the lube line bolt taken out and the lube line worked out of the way and then the valve can be unbolted and taken out. Upon reassembly there are adjustments to be made for lever travel. You will at least need very good mechanical skills plus lots of patience. mEl

I had a older DB mechanic work on it a few years ago. He replaced the seals but he said the cam has been scored. He said then it needed to be replaced or a sleeve pressed in it. He is retired no and physically cannot do much any more. I thought about doing the job myself. I have a cousin who has a machine shop and can do the sleeve work. I just need a diagram and info on where I can get parts or seals for the piston. Is Elmer still in business???
