Replacing cheesy wiring harness on tractor, I am confused by the existing Frankenstein arrangement of wires to the resistor. The resistor has 2 posts, looks like the lower (ground ?) is broken off. The distributor coil wire is on one post. One of the key ignition wires is on the other post. Everything else is sandwiched in space via a bolt/nut junction. There was another wire connection in the junction from dashboard light switch to rear light and a ground that I removed because it was a tangles mess. I do not need lights.
If I cannot remove those two bolts and the ground is broken off how should I attach a new resistor ?
