9N air filter

I was wondering if there is a better air filter option than the original oil filled one. I am getting ready to change the oil and thought that I would ask. Thanks, Gary

I feel the answer is no. The oil bath filter is probably one of the most effective methods of eliminating airborne enemies of your engine. :-)

Nothing better then the oil bath since they catch dirt dust bugs etc and have been used for decades. Ya if you where working in places where dust etc was not a problem a paper filter might get you by but not on a tractor. Shoot even into the late 60s many trucks still had the oil bath filters like my 1965 Ford 1 ton

I bought new in 1976, a Ford F250 with a 360 and it had an oil bath air filter. It is just like everything, you have to service them regularly.

Sounds like you have the original equipment filter and tubes hooked up.
I would keep them.
In a pinch, or for testing, or while waiting on parts the little K&M round filters for a motorcycle will plug right on the carb intake and hold there pretty well.
I don't think they're better or ideal, but they're better than running it with a wide open carb sucking in everything it can hold.
And a lot of bikers throw them away when they replace them.

like everyone says, on a tractor,
it's the dry dirt dust. gets in everywhere.
one pass working dirt, in a dry field and a paper element would be plugged.
in high summer here, the oil in the cup gets changed very often.
IMO, oil bath filter is the only way to go.

If you go paper, use a setup like old garden tractors had.
a paper element wrapped in an oiled foam sleeve
that could be rinsed.
