9n carb problems

I have a 9n with an 8n front mount 6v motor.Motor running
perfectly yesterday for a couple of hours bush hogging. Its always
started and run fine.Started it this morning and it only wants to
keep running if choke pulled out.4 gals. fuel added yesterday at
end of day.Thats the only change from yesterday to
today.Checked fuel flow with cap on and off. Each measured 1 pt
in 90 secs.Same flow whether on reserve or full tank.Very recent
electrical tuneup .Points,plugs.cond.,rotor,dist.,cap,plug
wires,etc.
Thinking of either tossing or rebuilding carb.If I replace the
carb, any opinions about the carbs sold by this site? Looks like
they sell a Zenith and a copy of a Marvel. Will these things hook
right up to my existing stock linkage?

first, yes.. the zeniths are bolt on.

second. check spark.. if good spark, check fuel flow thru carb by pulling drain.

might be some trash in there.. elbow screen still in place?

Are you saying you would choose the Zenith over the Marvel as sold on this site? Per my post I did a flow test out the drain plug and it was fine.Haven't checked spark yet.

All the flow test does is tells you the carb is getting the gas it needs but it does not say the jets are clear of rust and or dirt. As sound said first off check spark because a weak spark can act like a carb problem. If you find you have good spark that will jump a 1/4 inch gap try this. Start it up with the air intake tube off and as it runs put your hand over the end of the carb to hard choke it but do not let it die if you can help it. Do that a few times and sometimes that is enough to clear a small clog
