9n condenser-good or bad

Is there a way to ohm out a condenser to see if it is good or bad. i heard that if your traactor stalls after 30 min or so its the condenser? thin i heard it was the coil? just trying to put it all together and get my 9n figured out. thanks to every one that has gave me advice before.

most condensors are either good or bad.. can fail open or shorted.

open condensors allow points to burn quick

shorted condensors kill spark.. will act like shorted or closed up points.

touch cap leg to cap case then place an analog ohm meter set on rx1 scale with leads across the cap .. should see the needle swing from 0-max

ok- should the wire from the condenser be connected to the brass screw or the screw just to the right of distributor, if facing up?

to the points screw.. think of the condensor being across the points.. one side of cond is grounded to distrib.so is one side of points.. other side of condensor essentially hooks to the other side of the points... electrically speaking..

think of the condensor as a switch debouncer, in electronic terms... not 100% of it's job.. but half of it.
