(quoted from post at 16:15:07 10/25/12) for hobby use which do you prefer, puller or pusher?
on't get anyone too excited about a "pusher"........not easy to find one.

I have an 8N that I use for mowing. It has a temperature gage in the head and a 160 degree thermostat. During hot 90+ summer days the temperature gage reads about 190 degrees with a puller fan. I got tried of having the hot air blow back on me so I installed a pusher fan. The temperature gage read 220 degrees after several hours mowing in 90 degree weather. It did not boil over but I felt this was to high of a head temperature and installed an 12 volt auxiliary fan. The tractor has been converted to 12 volts. Now the gage stay around 195 degrees in hot weather and I sweat a little less. Bottom line is a pusher does not cool the engine as good as a puller fan.

The Ford accessory catalogs describe the 6 blade puller fan as designed for "torrid" zones. Torrid=hotter than 9 kinds of H.

(quoted from post at 19:45:09 10/25/12) I have both thats why the original question, which by the way I consider well answered Thanks
ome claim better to keep trash out of radiator when working high growth, but I don't know......maybe, but then maybe it just builds up on the opposite side of radiator? Maybe you will provide definitive answer on that.

I had a similar experiance. I think it is because the shroud is good for a puller but of no benifit for the pusher. Just my 2 cents worth.
