9N Ford Hydraulics problem..

I recently replaced the top cylinder and installed a new piston, with o-ring and neoprene washer. Replaced the pto shaft. pulled and cleaned, and replaced gaskets on the
pump, added new gear oil. Now it will not work at all. If anyone has any thoughts about what may be the problem, please let me know.

The control valve is new and is moving in and out freely, while moving the touch control arm. I made very sure it was connected properly to the fork assembly.

Ill assume youve removed the inspection plate and checked for leaks, right? Some times it has to burp some air. Turn the pto on, start the tractor and cycle the touch control lever a few times. Drive around a bit. Little it run a while with the pto engaged. Post back with results.

At the risk of asking the obvious - PTO engaged?

"Some times it has to burp some air."

That is my experience. Run it for ten minutes and see what happens. Before I place the top cover, I turn the PTO by hand. Some oil should come up the tube.

Did you replace the safety relief valve and clean the valve chambers? How long did you wait after doing all that and firing up the tractor? Sometimes with an oil change, you need to get the oil circulating a bit and warmed up first, and, be sure the PTO is engaged. What was wrong with old PTO shaft or did you simply want to install the 1-3/8" splined unit? Did you reconnect the wishbone' bracket? Sometimes it is the basic simple things that get overlooked.

I replaced the safety valve, cleaned the valve chambers, and connected the wishbone to the control valve. I changed the pto because I wanted the 1-3/8".

I drove the tractor around for over 30 minutes today, nothing changed. Won't lift the arms at all.

yes, the fluid was calm; non pouring out of the top, like it was before the rebuild. When I pull the inspection plate again. I'm going to loosen the valve caps and pour some oil into each of them. What do you think?

I'd be surprised of it helped. But go for it at this point.

Bruce, thanks for the help. If you think of anything else I could try, please let me know. I may have rebuild the pump! The parts looked good when I cleaned it.
