9n front mount will not start

Okay guys an update i hope i have found the problem with it when i was checking the voltage to the top of the coil while ago the coil got a little hot and it melted the solder out of the little pig tail when i would move it one way i had continuity when i move it forward a little i lose it.

I had 11 and 1/2 volts to the top of it and about 6 and 1/2 with the points closed.

I noticed the other day that it had been hot before as it had melted the plastic that is around the brass pigtail in the end of the coil. I only had the key on about three or four minutes and it got hot. So i will get another coil and we will see.

Uh-huh.

Tip # 38.

You might as well replace the points too. (use only Blue Streak or Echlin, tip # 66)

Get a true 12v coil (2.5 ohms internal resistance or more, tip # 30) and use ONLY the OEM ballast resistor in this picture in the ignition circuit. No other resistors!

I didnt have the key on very long at all but it dont take long with these coils i guess.

I piddled with it a little too long tho it is hard finding a ground with the paint on it and i left the key on too long.

I scraped some of it off to make a good ground. We will see thank you guys for the replys and taking the time to answer me.
Thank you very much
