9N Governer Adjustment

I just rebuilt the Governor on my 9N got the shims right at .220 having problem with the RPM's
low idle is at 800 high end wide open is around 3300+ RPM how do I adujust it down to 2200 RPM
Dell do I use the "Itchy Twitchy's" on the Carb?

Bart.......keep yer itchy-twitchy fingers off'n them handy-dandy tweek'um.
While the BEHIND the carb idle speed might slow things down; (try it) I think yer problem is STILL the governor. ......Dell

Is there not an adjustment bolt at the back of gov?The manual says there is,and I have used it to set max rpms[lowered them, sounded too high].Try that, and check the manual.---lha

ee the bolt with jam nut on bottom of gov arm (the one attached to throttle rod)? Adjusting that bolt length changes limit as it will hit stop on side of housing earlier or later in rotation of arm/throttle movement. Screw IN to slow engine.

Yeah, I know...you have 9N & gov pic is 8N...for this adjustment, it makes no difference. Just a handy pic.

Thanks All
JMOR once again your picture solves the mystery
the bolt in my Governor is allot shorter I had it bottomed out all the way in with no results.
I will pull out that one and replace it.
the Picture you posted last week of the spring showed me the proper location the PO had it run from the carb to the plate over the fuel pump cover (Jeep Motor in my 9N)
Dell I had to play with the carb because I had it apart after I got trash in it ran it out of Fuel when worknig on the hydraulics, did like you and Bruce say checked for blue snot spark, carb would not pee right drained fuel tank and cleaned all of the fuel screens stared right back up.
Thanks All I will get to it after a few more cups of coffee and the post about the front end re-build and alignment I am working on also.
