9N hood sides

as you may know the 9N hood sides attach differently from the 8N. I have been trying to locate replacement hood sides for my 1941 9N, but I only find parts for the 8N, and every time it says they are compatible. Am I missing something? How does one attach the 8N hood sides to the 9N frame? The bolt holes are different. Better yet, where can I find 9N hood sides.

Perhaps you are asking about what is usually referred to as the "doglegs"

It is possible to fabricate a bracket so that 8N doglegs can be used on a 9N. I don't have any pictures but I purchased a 9N once that had them.

Yes, I believe you are correct. Why do all of the parts houses only have 8n "doglegs" when they are incompatible with 9n and 2n tractors? Are there any places online that sell the 9n ones?

My reason for wanting to replace them is that I want my grill to be able to flip down so it can be cleaned out. A previous owner welded the grill to the "doglegs" so the grill can't be folded down or removed. Since this is a working tractor, I'd like to have the full functionality of the machine including the features to prevent debris from blocking the radiator.

I have both a 41 9N and a 44 2N and on neither does the grill flip down like you are wanting. The 9N bolts from the underneeth and the 2N bolts from the side. And Dad bought the 2N New when I was only 9 months old. I have had the 9N for about 20 years now.
