First let me say I know my short comings and know beyond a doubt I am not a mechanic. But the economy is forcing me to learn. I bought my 9n about a year ago without the knowledge of my fluid leak. Not knowing what I would find if I took the arm and plate off to put a gasket on, I tried JB Weld, work on my old Dodge PU. But not here. If I am using it to mow regularly, it will leak about a gallon in 2-3 weeks (thus the pan to recycle it). So here is my question, if I take the arm off and the plate, what do I find. Gears falling out on the floor or what. I really am not much of a mechanic but can't afford to have it done and the hydraulic fluid aint cheap. If it is simple as slip it off, put on some perma seal or a gasket, slip it on, then I might be able to handle it. I have ask a couple farmers in the family but no one has ever had one off. Here are the pic's so you can see my problem. The other side is dry as can be. One more questions the numbers on the axle do they have any meaning. They start with 2N is why I am asking. Thanks in advance for your help!!!!
