Using 9n with scoop to move dirt and was working fine. All of a sudden it stopped lifting. Oil full, no noise or anything when it stopped. Maybe a valve? It had been good and strong previously.

Thanks

For a lift on a 9/2N that was working prefect I would wager something broke are came lose...

The lift linkage on them are a strange animal they have a knee in the middle that uses a spring to keep tension on it, the spring keeps constant tension on the knee. the spring connects to the control linkage and hooks onto the lift cylinder They have been known to break...

The spring is the only force available to move the valve. You should be able to look into the inspection port and observe whether or not the yoke becomes un-hinged or the spring keeps it rigid. "Complements of JMOR"

Next up its been reported the lift linkage will come off the control valve at the pump...

The simple approach would be to confirm the lift linkage is actually moving the control valve at the pump... Not a guess confirm it..

If I had a better pix of the lift control I would post it, this is all I have...

Thank you. It will be a few days but I'll check the side covers to investigate. I have some experience with the 8n and 641 lifts. Just couldn't figure something that would cause a quick issue like that.

Shane007 ,You don't say if the scoop has a front mount pump or if it runs off the OEM pump in the tractor.

I'm a recent owner of a 1945 2-N.....

Does the PTO still Engauge and turn.?

Picture of the mechanism. I had to do a major cleaning after tractor sat for 30 + years.
