9N Low Ratio trans

Up for discussion the 9N Low Ratio trans. Some will be stamped LR

What do you know about it Kirk? I never knew there was such a thing. Are all three gears low ratio or just 1st and 2nd?

It’s my understanding that the main gear on the counter shaft was changed out. Factory ordered would have the low ratio or LR stamp on the trans flange. This would effect all gears

I find thing cause I’m always looking. Have a lot of friends that always keep an eye out for something I might be interested in

Difference in the low ratio and standard trans

Is that an earlier 9N? Possible straight cut gears? Might be worth playing a 4 trans with that and get it under 12 inches per hour.
