9n misfiring update

ivor from uk here and last week I posted a message here about a guy who has a 9n which misfires when throttle opened well the latest news is that plug leads were all connected good but now it surges when the throttle is opened.... he has said that he is using supermarker fuel which is well known for not the best quality also the tractor is gasoline/kerosene but has not tried kerosene yet thanks in advance

I guess your asking for advice on how to fix the stumble and surge. I'm new here but had to correct issue with my tsx 33 carb on my newly purchased 2N. To save time I bought a cheap replacement 241b off eBay and swapped them out. Tractor ran, but only with choke. Couldn't get it to dial in. Finally pulled it back off and found metal fillings through out the carb. Also determined that the jets were too small. I stole parts from the eBay carb and just rebuilt my original TSX33 and the tractor is very happy. Dialed in a good slow idle and just a slight brief stumble if you pull hard on the throttle. Long story short, the eBay carb are not set up correctly and if you try to use them you may need to replace the jets and clean the fillings out of them. I'm a bit worried on the passages being drilled correctly as well.
