9N PTO OIL

Does the PTO share oil with the transmission on a 9N. A guy at work replaced the pto shaft in his, removed plug at bottom of PTO housing and got about a quart out. The shaft is now replaced and he is wondering how much oil to put back in. I have Caterpillars so I was no help, but thought maybe someone on this forum would know. Thanks Bill

4.75 to 5g of oil lives in the common sump rear end, hyds and tranny on a N tractor.

if he got a quart out, he needs to check how much sludge is in the bottom, and drain the other sump plugs and see if it was low.. etc.
