9N Transmission Shift Boot Problem Solved.
I installed my new boot in about 15 seconds.
I should say my wife and I installed it together in about 15 seconds.
You need 4 hands.
My secret is, or what worked for me is I used an all purpose grease to lube the inside of the boot first.
I used the same lube on the shifter handle for easy installation and around the boot housing on the transmission.
I slid the boot all the way down the shift handle and I gave my wife 2 needle nose pliers and I had 2 needle nose pliers.
We grabbed about a ¼ inch section at each side of the boot like 4 corners of a square and pulled it in 4 directions at once and slid the boot over the shift housing and let it snap into place.
It fit like a glove.
That’s all it took.
