I have a n series tractor with a serial number of 9n268069. Is this a 9n? My second question is we took the head of cause the antifreeze got in the oil. The engine was stuck but we got it freed up. Took the pistons out and started cleaning them up and some of the rings got broke. The pistons have .083 stamped on them and they are 4 ring 2 oil and 2 comprssion. What does the stamping mean? The cylinders have no sleeves . What do i do cant find right rings.

1. To figure out what you have, go to http://www.oldfordtractors.com/identify.htm.

2. Someone who "rebuilt" the engine in the past tossed the sleeves and installed pistons that fit the "parent bore". There MAY be sources for stuff like that involved in Ford V-8 flatties. If you can't find anything in that arena, Dave Reed can set you up with piston rings for just about ANYTHING.
