Hi there
I am new here and new to tractor restoration in general so please be gentle with me
I am having trouble searching for any previous answers to this question so I apologize if this has been answered somewhere else that I cannot locate.
I have a '47 9N that I am trying to get the starter out of. I have done all the usual things, bolts out, cable off, tilting, etc. but it is hung up somehow and will not slide out.
I have the manuals for the tractor and have followed all the instructions and drawings and apparently it is supposed to just slide out but it won't. The engine is not seized and I have manually moved the tractor but that has not helped. I can pry it out about 1/2 inch but I am afraid I am just going to damage something if I force it further.
Has anyone run into this? What is happening and what do I need to do to get the starter out?
Thanks for any help you can offer
