9N tractor brakes

i had a problem of oil getting on brake lineing.i corrected problem and put on new lineing and still don"t have good stoping power. any suggestions. thanks alan

Just adjust them according to the manual. These mechanical brakes are not always precise. I have several tractors, all with good brake linings, and some stop better than others, but for me the key is will they stop on a trailer loading ramp if I stand on them. If not, I adjust them.

Have you fitted the springs the correct way around, if you don't the braking power will be down and they may only work in reverse. The shoes have to be centralized in the drums also. If you need the information about setting up the brakes, email me at:-
