Off and on over the last 2-3 years, I've posted my trials and tribulations with an A/C motor mounted on a NH 1280
self-propelled baler. I tried a lot of things. Finally, I bit the bullet and ordered a rebuilt magneto from Rudy at
RebuiltMags.com. He was most helpful. I called on a Friday and he was able to get it in the mail that day, and I had
it the following Tuesday. I installed it on Wednesday. I timed it by-guess-and-by-golly. It's a hand crank engine, so I had my wife pull
me to get it started. Pulled me about 20 ft. and it was running!!! I baled a small patch by the house, took about an hour and never missed a beat.
This afternoon, I moved to a small field about 2 miles away (roaded it) and baled 3 acres. Never missed a lick!!
So, after all my pain, misery and agony, it was the magneto. Just didn't want to spend the money, but it was the best
money I spent on any engine.
Thanks to all who offered their suggestions.
