A carb question

Does anyone know what is the original carb for a John Deere A All fuel ser#558344? The IT manual shows a DLTX-24. I thought someone said it was a 53? I want to buy a new/rebuilt one. Any good places.

According to your serial number, you have a 1945 Model that would have had a DLTX53. You could probably use a DLTX72 as well, or if you burn gasoline, a DLTX71 would be good.

A DLTX-24 is usually found on unnstyled G's and has a hand choke.
The DLTX-53 mentioned by Pappy usually has a choke lever for use with a choke rod.
