A fan shaft

I need help removing fan shaft. I can’t lget the bevel gear off to replace bearing. I got the fa blades etc off the front. Which way does shaft come out?

There is a snap ring on the shaft that has to come off. After that a good press to push it off or some heat with a gear puller will get it. You need to get the gear off to replace the bearing.

Fanshaft come out the rear of the housing.

I did mine last year. You have to pull the gear and bearing race off together. It's a tough pull. I used an HF bearing separator behind the gear plus heat and drove the gear with a punch from behind. Did a bit of damage to the gear and had to file the teeth some. Had just as much trouble getting the fan off too.
