I received the sad news last night that an older neighbor passed away last week. I was fortunate to meet him over 30 years ago when we first moved onto our place. At that time he was employed as a pipe fitter, welder and millwright. He did a number of welding repairs for me over the years. The work was absolutely tops, extremely affordable and a few times as an emergency repair while we were baling hay. He lived his entire life on the same small farm, just up the hill from his parents house, that his brother now lives in. He still owned his dad’s 9n and of course it looked and ran like new. You could literally eat off the floor in his shop and every project was complete to perfection. I could have listened to his stories and wisdom for many more hours. He researched and became an expert at everything he did but would also tell you if he didn’t know something. It’s going to be tough for his wife and family. No way he can be replaced.
