my husband is fixing up his tractor and is wondering what kind of oil to use in the motor and what kind of transmission oil to use

i think 30 weight for sure in motor,but good 10w 30 castrol is the best oil i ever used,,,check the dipstick,i thought my grandfather always used a hydraulic oil in his rear ends

I'm using 10-30 in my rebuilt engine (60) and 80/90 gear oil in the trans as per specs. Reccomend getting service & parts parts manuals. HTH

The manual on my A (SN 666598) says 80 if used in very cold, and 90 otherwise (transmission oil).

I use 80/90 gear oil in the trans. of my A and have had really good luck with it.
