A model clutch woes

I just bought this late ("51 or "52, can"t read all the SN) A model. I got it home, and started getting ready to crank it up for the first time..and found out the clutch won"t disengage. I popped the cover and found a mess. I"ve got it torn down to the drive disc. My I&T manual says to use 2 1/2 bolts to pull the drive. The drive does have 2 keyhole slots for the bolts to catch, but I can"t see anything for puller center bolt to push against. The center of the drive disc (where the 5/8 tapped hole is)appears to be part of the disc, not the end of the crank. By any chance is the tapped hole a thru hole, where I can screw a longer bolt in and use that to push against the end of the crank?? Any advice would be appreciated!!!

That center hole is taped into the crank, I took the same size bolt and drilled a shallow hole in the center of it, for the puller to push against.

You don't "pull" the drive, you push it off.
The two keyhole slots are for using ½" bolts with a square headed nut on each.
Start the nuts onto the bolts, insert into the keyhole slots, continue turning the bolts until they stop, then alternatively tighten each bolt until the drive pops loose.

On the late model B's there's a bolt and washer holding the disk on. You take the bolt and washer out then but the bolt back in, the puller pushes against that. I'd imagine it would be the same with late model A's.

I made my own removal tools. Install tool, back bolt in crank back against it pretty snug, then smack center of tool with a 3# hammer and it will pop right off. Don't forget to punch mark the driver and a spline to get it back in time. Hope this helps.

This, plus I leave the washer and center bolt in, just backed out a few turns. If I load up the two bolts and she won't budge I give the center bolt a sharp rap with a hammer. Helps to break loose the stubborn ones.

Thanks for all the replies!!! One thing that puzzles me is that on all the photos I've seen the ends of the crankshaft splines are visible, on mine they're nowhere to be seen. This is a picture with the bolt and washer removed.
