A unique tractor?

We have a tractor we think is unique. It is either an 8N or a 9N. We've been told it was manufactured around 1952. It is a Coffeyville conversion. We need information about this tractor, including it's value, please.

an 8N or a 9N are ford tractors, the 8N was built between 1948 and 1952 and the 9N was made between 1939 and 1941. Both are among the most common tractors ever made, with 500,000 8Ns built in those years. I have never heard of that conversion, but we would have to know more about the condition of the tractor to help you. How are the tires, sheet metal, and hows it run(i think you said some of those). Hold on, you may have a Funk conversion made in coffeyville. If so its definatally worth something. Not rare, but not common (i think). How many cylenders does the engine have??? Do you have the serial number of the tractor and how many speeds does it have. 3spd=9N 4spd=8N

I saw a V-8 8N at a farm show this spring.All along,I thought it was a home made modification that the owner did themselves,very professional mind you.I never knew that they were actually available back then.I only wish I would have got to hear the thing running!

Funk had a modification for the V8 conversion of these. As I understand it was a fairly simple change over.

I aghree with Gary. There was V8 conversion made by Funk for Ford tractors. I don't remember for sure but I think the Funk was made in Kansas or Oklahoma, may be wrong on that. If you look in one of the Ford history books there is pictures of them.

funk sold the kits for the v-8 flathead and the 6 cylinder conversions. i dont think they actually did the conversions themselves.

A fellow at the Portland, Indiana show a couple years ago had a collection of Funk conversions. He had an inline 6, a flathead V8 and a Lincoln flathead V12. Quite a nice collection... Gene

OK, so it sounds like this is an 8N Funk conversion flathead 6 cylinder. It's sheet metal is in good shape, tires are shot. It hasn't run for several years due to a broken cooling fan pulley. As no one knew what it was, we could never find parts. Up to that point, it ran well. We're looking to sell it, and have a guy interested but have no idea what a fair price would be. We appreciate the help!
