I want to remove to clean/replace O rings in part # A32978/A59600 (CIH new#)on a 66 730 CK. Need to know if I need to remove A33382 (Trans.Cover)in order to remove A32978.I see it as loosen Hyd.line connection, remove 4 bolts, unscrew parts A32980 front control Spool from A32981 Spool end, move valve assm. (A32978) forward/upward, watching out for 4 orings under assm. Reason is 3 point arms movement is slow in starting the moving up/down of arms, there is no issue with how much weight I'm working with. Would like opinions/advice in this issue. Thanks Larry.

You do not need to remove the valve from the tractor. Remove the square cover on the right side. Four 5/16 bolts hold it on. Kinda tough to get a wrench on them. Throw the bolts away and put allen head bolts in. Behind the cover you will find 3 holes. Front hole is the lowering poppet. DO NOT MESS WITH THIS!!!!! Second hole is the check valve and seat. If it holds a load up this is fine. Rear hole is your problem. Remove take apart and clean. Set the needle to specs in the service manual. Something like 1 1/2 turns from the bottom. Adjustment is a guess so check first! This is the 2 speed lift control mechanism that causes the 3 pt to lift slow for the first little bit and then shift to lift fast. 15 minute job once allen head screws are in there. I have done this many times on my 970. That slow lift while blowing snow will test you. Let us know how it goes for you. DK
