A6 Case Combine (pic)

Hope all you guys are staying warm,I promised you that when it got cold I would post what few pics I took with new camera last fall.
This is one I just pulled into the farm,and one of the last Case pieces I got home for 2010.
She is a "A6" I think a 1951,she is going to join another one I have to be a "parts" machine,some of you might not remember that I have a "A6" in the shed,and in its lifetime has rarely sat outside.
I was glad I got home with the original tires on it,as about a mile from the farm I started losing parts of the tire! But she took me home

Good luck with the project. We had one on the farm after selling the Galvanized F2. We pulled the A6 with an LA. It was equipped with a bagger platform, and pto powered, versus the Wisconsin on the F2. Loren

Post pics when you get the prject done. We used to have a bunch of A6's around here in this part of Iowa in the 50's and early to mid-60's. Must have been a good oat-soybean machine. The Case guys said the Deere combines were 'backward' combines because they were left hand and the Cases were right hand feed. Jim

Dads called his a F2 , but it was not glvanized ..looked very much like this Same design and colors of paint in All Areas ,, , Had Wood seives , detachable unloading augar , and a ground level small slide door with a drop chute for buckets and sacks ... memories of a 5 yr.old ... , Does anyone know What Years did they Build F2 and A 6s ,, Family Flok lore states He borrowed $2000 in 1951 to buy a nice used SC and a F2 ,, in 2 yrs he had it all paid for from doing custom work ..

Towing A6's, what an adventure. When I was younger and crazier I pulled an A6 from east of Fargo, over 200 miles. Had a couple of spares but didn't need them. Broke and axle on a 77 while on the road one time too. That was exciting. Looks like you have the long unloading auger on this one? I'm going to either find one or make one. Hope all is well. Too much snow and cold here.

Found an A6, motor seized. Looks like it was greased, all bushings and moving exterior joints seem to be covered in grease. Good sign. What kind of money should these be worth? Are manuals availabe?
Do you have any good advice before I buy? I want to make it a working machine.

Hi Dandy,
Sounds like she would be a good pick.The motor isnt a issue to me.How are the canvesses? Have you looked at areas that would hold water? Is there rust,or pitted through?I assume she is shedded? Did you ask for the manuals? They might have them.They are available,sometimes just singing out here or the Case forum will get you them.Try to get the manuals for the year machine you have.The serial # plate is on the right side I beleive just below the feeder house.Subtract 4 from the first 2 digits and this is the year,it also should say "A6".
My guess on price,well without knowing a bit more,between 200-500 bucks
If you buy it,keep looking for cheap parts machines.
