okay guys i need your help! my tractor was running but after the coolant overflowed the cap ( to full) it ran for a couple of mins then stopped and repeated this process about 4 times and doesn't even spark anymore.... any IDEAS?!??! Right now i'm got a very beautiful but very heavy paper weight

You are going to have to dry that distributor out good.

Maybe a hair dryer, maybe wd-40.

Maybe a rag....

The most common reason for an N to “over heat” is over filling the radiator. Only add enough fluid to cover the core. (check out tip # 23, below as well as tips 25 & 35) It is not actually over heating; it is just spewing out the excess water.

If the radiator is not overfilled, check for low coolant, a loose fan belt, debris in the radiator fins or a stuck thermostat. A bad water pump will usually squeak or leak.

A frontmount distributor? It's always helpful to let us know.

Like Dunk sez, get out the hair dryer.

IMHO.. you will need to not only dry the distribuitor.. but clean it with carb spry clenaer.. or brake cleaner.. radiator water has oils in it.. points donna like that..

haha thanks guys i'll let ya know if i can get it dried up and started again.. if i don't reply back in 2 days safe to say that she caught me with her hair dryer on my 8n... send the police!
