About Forum topic layout.

Was just wondering why Case has to be compacted in with David Brown, and Ford has 3 separate and distinct categories.
Is this the best hair splitting thread you could come up with for this morning? So why does Farmall, International(Case IH) and McCormick have to survive in ONE forum? The Case/DB forum is probably fourth on my viewing priority list. I have not noticed that the posting traffic there is so “heavy” that it is difficult to sort through to find the posts of interest to me. One thing I am sure you will know or figure out if you do much viewing on the N board is the fact that N owners are a special breed. However, the rhetoric there has diminished somewhat over the last year or two. Secondly, Fordsons tractors are really there own breed.

I've always wondered why some forums exist at all - the traffic on them is extremely low - probably because not a lot of sales or interest compared to other models. I have also decided not to stay up at night worrying about it.

Well, at some point, certain parts bearing the name McCormick, Farmall and International all came out of the same mold. It is not unreasonable to combine these names under one group. But DB was an unrelated acquisition by Tenneco.

They can do what they want.... it was just a curiosity to me , that's all.

Some later model Case tractors appeared to have some David Brown tractor characteristics such as outboard rear axle planetaries.

I thought you were an across the board brand guy at least J.I. Case and IH both, meaning not necessarily a Case purist like jon f mn. But apparently still grinding an axe for something that was a done deal over 50 years ago.
Can’t remember if before the software update if the two were already together in one forum or not.
I get what you mean about both Farmall and McCormick coming from the same mold.

merge em all by decade spans. itll help make those lonely folk less lonely. :ROFLMAO: you got a 50s tractor, you gon git in that 50s forum.

dont care what period-specific bright clown colors yer rig rolled out the factory with, you gon see them posts based on era :ROFLMAO:

prolly help more people learn more, "synergy"

Grinding an axe? I fear that the phenomenon of misinterpeted messaging of text vs. speech is emerging here.
Figure of speech “grinding an axe” equals “holding on to a past item that irritated you” I know you say “just a curiosity” but my point would come from the camp of “if it ain’t broke no need to fix it”
I am far more irritated about how some post here using the “question” format when they don’t intend to. They do it because there is “NO instructions” there to tell them what to do. Those are the kind of things that would make this forum better in my opinion, but that’s my “ideal plane”

i dunno maybe id like to see em mushed together, might pick up a few more zaney ideas... between em

speaking of mushed-thinking ......currently contemplating using some kobota 3pt level arms on my old ford rear.... noticed they twist from the center instead of the top handle... seems more robust... 😆
😆

You mean they adjust like a top link? Seems plausible to me. Have problems with them snapping off? What kind of Ford is it? If it is an N post it on there and they will tell you how “UN-Henry” it is.

heheh, yes 850, wish i had thought of it earlier, before buying a replacement ford-logical one earlier, only came to mind as i was youtubing things and i noticed how much beefier the tin is on the kubota 3pt arms etc... very un-henry. absolutely un-henry :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

all that metal beef
shame already bought a replacement ford specific swinging drawbar kit setup for the rear as well.... might of been interesting to drill some holes in some kubota parts and make em fit 🥹 ah well--- already got the ford specific side stabilizer bars as well tho---- ehhhh maybe summer time. then i say, if i really wanna kubota just spend the decade finding one for cheap thatll take another decade in parts and 'fixes' to get going :sneaky: o_O
