I would appreciate the benefit of your experiences on a AC 4W305. My brother has found one in apparent good condition and would like to know how well they worked, what were good and bad points - -what failed and what had great life?
I also understand several parts are no longer available, but don"t know what hey are - -does anyone have experiences in problems getting parts for them, if so, which parts?

THANKS & Regards!
John

If you click on tractor parts in the upper left corner of this page, then click on Allis Chalmers - all models - 4W305, you can see what parts are available for that tractor.

I'm new to Allis Chalmers and tractors in general for the most part, except for driving a few tractors around the farm 30-some years ago, so I don't know anything about that model feature-wise.

Nice driving, powerful tractor. I ran an 8550 for 5 years with minimal problems. Engine is problematical, lower end is weak, likes to throw rod bearings. It is a destroked 844 and crankshafts are impossible to find. Many were rebuilt as 844's or had Cummins 855's grafted in. Then you have a powerful, dependable, cheap tractor. Good luck!
