AC Paint

Could someone tell me the difference from colors AC Orange and Persian Orange? Bought AC which has hood and fenders painted, but needs other parts painted and wanted to match the paint. Couldn't find out what they used.Hood and fenders look's very good. Thanks Mickey

There are 3 colors Persian orange 1 and Persian orange 2 and then AC orange. #1 is for the older ones say before 1960 or so. Then #2 is in the middle say from 1960 to around the 80s give or take a few years and now there is the AC orange which was for the last years of the true ACs

Good luck with matching every company has their own AC Orange. Go to an allis show and you will see 10 different shades of orange. Your best luck is to buy a shade you like and repaint it all. Allis Corporate Orange usually holds its color the best.

You can try a can of Rust-Oleum OSHA Safety Orange may be very close, An old A-C dealer told me this, Also they used Rust_Olium Almond for the cream color.

The orange on frame etc is not as orange as hood and fenders.The hood and fenders where painted recently. Was old AC(#1) paint real orange? If I take fender to auto parts that has a paint color identifier will that get the right color? Some say yes and others no. It's on 48 G. Thanks Mickey

check out tractor supply. they have AC orange in a 1 gallon paint can. you can paint it on with a brush and it drys flat.

1948 G used Persian Orange #1. PO 1 from 1929-1960. PO 2 from 1960-1977. After that, Corporate Orange.

TSC is not the paint to use ; it matches nothing AC put out

If it is a pumkin orange color it is the persian orange #1. If is more of a red/orange it is persian orange #2.

Persian orange #1 from 1929 to 1960, Persian orange #2 from 1960 to 1977. Corporate orange from 1977 to present.

Persian orange #1 is a very drab orange. Persian #2 and Corporate Orange are very similar and are bright with more red in the formula. Corporate Orange (in my opinion) is a much more appealing, flashy color. In the bright sun you have to squint to look at it as it so bright. I would recommend going to the local AGCO dealer, they can sell you rattle cans or gallons of either color.
