Adapter/elbow for compression test

How do you'll manage to connect your compression tester with the hood and tank still in place. I believe I used a spark plug anti foul adapter with some kind of pipe elbow or something. Is there something "off of the shelf" for this purpose? Thanks

Like Sean, my tester has a short/flexable hose. Put the right size adaptor on, and get the threds started, then twist the hose, to screw it in. The dial is a quick adapt, so that makes it easy too.

Cheap set......but works good.
Think I bought this at NAPA.

Been a while since I had my tester connected but seems like I had a problem because my tester has a quick connect gizmo on the end..The quick connect is really good in most applications but seems to work against you in this particular application.

My gauge came w/ two brass adapters to fit the two common plug sizes (14mm & 18mm straight thread, I think.) The hose from the gauge screws into the adapters. I screw the one that fits the N into the head, screw a brass T into that, then screw the hose into the T. Otherwise, the hose wants to kink under the gas tank.

That is what I'm needing is the "T"....I think that would make it so much easier to deal with. I don't suppose you have ever seen them sold separately???? Thanks

I got mine at the local hardware store. Take the adapter that fits into the head (it's 14mm straight thread, as I recall) The other end that you put the hose in has standard threads. Find a T that fits in that end & will take the hose threads as well. It has a male end on one side for the adapter in the head & a female end on the other for the hose.

Before i had a set with QD's on them.. I did what gaspump did.. I soldered a 90' nipple to an old shelled out spark plug.. open side of the 90 had a hose barb..
