Adding stroke to engine

Im thinking about offset grinding a RD450 crank. Has anybody ever done this to one of these before? The rod journal diameter measures 2.75, and i was considering grinding it down to 2.2 inch, which would be the same journal diameter as a big block chevy bearings. Is grinding .550"" going to weaken the crank to much? If i bore to 4.6 and add the .550 stroke, it should yield 553 cubes. Didnt know if anybody has ever done this before. I realize that i would have to get different rods, and i know of some M rods with that journal size and a 10.3 center to center length. Is there anything im overlooking? thanks!

Ok lets think about this. A big block chevy can withstand far greater hp output AND rpm, than youll EVER make. With 2 cylinders per journal.....better material possibly, but still. Guys do far worse to crankshafts- consider a B jd crank mig welded & stroked TWO INCHES, with a stock size of 2.75 reduced to a smaller size to aid camshaft clearance. Been done many times. A radius at the edge of the journal is crucial for strength.
