Adjusting mounted plow

I"ve got a two bottom mounted plow that I use behind my model 50. It has breakaway bottoms and one breaks away too easily. What do I have to do to adjust this? I don"t know what model it is but it has no tail wheel if that helps. I would post a picture but don"t know how! Thanks again!

Unless it is a late model metric plow the spring trip adjustment procedure will be virtually the same for all plows from the 444 all the way up to the 1450 plow. The procedure is found in the operators manual.

If you can't post a picture you can look through the implement photos and post a link to the photo that you find that is similar to yours.

It may not be trip pressure that needs adjustment. If the latch arm,( the part with the roller on the front ) and a grease zerk in the oval hole on the side does not re-latch when you manually trip it with an adjustable wrench.

It should have spring pressure to return it to the latched position. Small spring inside may be broken. Looks difficult, but not too bad to replace.

If that's the problem, I can try to explain how I replaced them on my plow.
