Adopted my First Cub

(quoted from post at 12:52:32 08/07/23) That is a slick looking Cub! I've never been that lucky;-) Way back in the day when I had 5 or 7 Cubs there was a replacement carb needle that was supposed to prevent leaking. It was listed as one that fit Briggs and Stratton engines. Of course I can't find the number now but it's out there on the inter-web somewhere. It worked fine for me. Might do some searching, it should come up. Good Luck with it!

Thanks, looks good from a distance. Get closer and you start to see the issues. Overall it looks like a solid tractor, and I like the early red ones best so I'm happy.

I think you will need to polarize the
generator if the battery was hooked up
backwards at some point. Shouldn't have
hurt anything.

Thanks, I'll check the wiring see if there's anything obvious that needs to be addressed. Looks like it's been reworked here and there. Might need new battery cables at the very least. Lots of tape and whatnot holding it all together.

(quoted from post at 03:06:13 08/08/23) If your GUB has the original gut-out either ground is possible as the cut-out doesent care what the ground is

Ok thanks. Here's hoping I can get fire and fuel to the engine. I should know a little more next day or two. Still waiting for the battery and the tractor didn't come with a crank to hand start it.
