Advice Needed.

Id definitely kinda be thinking that 3020 then. Things to add
value would be does it have a dry air cleaner vs oil bath. I
think that changed pretty quick in the 20 series I know 10
series had oil bath. Not a big deal performance wise the oil
bath is just as good but it sure is nice on the 4020 with dry just
changing it once a year. Powershift vs synchro. Powershift
might cost more and theres an extra filter to change. The shift
pattern on a synchro is set up really well you have a high and
low in all ranges plus a reverse thats right there too.
personally I wouldnt pay more for a powershift you would
use. The other thing at the tail end is side console where
hydraulic levers are on the right side. Ive never owned one of
these they command a lot of money usually. Although on just
about all tractors since then it is the right location for hydraulic
levers you dont have to reach forward while looking back.

So here s an example of a tractor I found. It s a little higher than my stated price range but there is bound to be some negotiation room and it could be a situation where it s better to spend the extra cash to get a better tractor at a better price except it has 7000 hours of use. It s a little more HP than I was wanting but maybe that s not a bad thing.

I would pick the 4030 way before the 3020. Engine quite a bit better in the 4030. Besides it should be a quad range or power shift. With a side console. We had a 4040. Great tractor. Sound guard cab. Just a 4020 with all the good upgrades. Motor went 9000 plus hrs. New rod bearings would have fixed it. But put a combine motor with 1800 hrs. In it.

No powershift in the 4030....James
