Today before work I spoke with the people I bought my new starter from. They were very happy to exchange it and are even going to pay for shipping the broken one back. The lady I talked to on the phone said that their supplier had a run of starters with defective nosecones last summer and they had several returned that were broken just like mine. So, heres some confirmation that the guy I bought the first starter from was just giving me the run around. The replacement starter should arrive on monday and i really hope this is the last one I have to replace for a while!!
