Aircraft stripper

It seems they { whoever they are ? ] have removed the methyl chloride from aircraft paint stripper . This unfortunately makes the product not work. The instructions went to 45 minutes from 20 minutes paint removal time. The lady in the auto body supply told me it won't work unless it sits over night. { maybe this should be in Paint and Bodywork section ].She said any one who bought multiple quarts returned all the unopened stock to the store. A good product ruined .

Yes, big brother has done it again. People complaining about idiots misusing the product and getting hurt so they have to try to make it idiot proof.

Not only did the soak time double the price of the remover doubled too.

Same thing happened here Downunder , removed Methelyne Chloride and created a useless product . Fortunately sense prevailed and it's now available again without it the only option was a make your own caustic soda paste .

I would go shopping to verify what they are telling you is fact.I went through this about five years ago,the paint store I use told me that the stuff had been outlawed.Turns out that they had done away with the stuff, and were leading their customers to believe that it was the law that made them to do away with the components.I just went to another body supply outlet and it was business as usual.I didn't question it at first because it was something I would expect.Turns out in my case it was the supplier that was sending me down a wrong road. The counter man was just parroting what the reps fed him, which was to peddle their products.

I am working on a project, wife was digging receipts out of my wallet said "Wow you have a lot of one's in there, I absently said I wont tomorrow gotta get some stripper. Had to explain what I meant. We had a good laugh

I'm "on the fence" with this one.

Methylene chloride is some REALLY nasty (AKA, death) stuff.

It's just a chemical. Used with a little common sense a person wouldn't hurt themselves with it. I've used around 10 55
gallon drums of professional grade paint and varnish remover and it didn't affect me. You have to supply adequate ventilation
and use protective equipment to prevent it from splashing on your skin. I had chemical gloves that went up to my elbows and
plastic sleeves that went from the gloves to my armpits. I also had a face shield and rubber apron. What has caused this
recent development is people attempting to strip the inside of tanks where the chemical fumes were just too much and they
died. You would think anyone would have sense not to do something like that but common sense is getting rare.
