Alameite and IH

Does anyone know if there was a connection between IH and Alemite grease guns. My dad had several Alemite (not sure of spelling) grease guns from the 40's and early 50's that came with IH machines. Most of them were a pump type, where you place the fitting on the nipple and pushed up and down with the complete gun. He also had a small pistol grip and a large one that held at least a 25 lb pail of grease, that was used on crawlers when equipped with the button nozzel and used on the combine when equipped with the standard nozzel. Thanks for any light...Darald

Tools like that were common to have with the equipment. Sometimes grease guns were some thing either added or purchased separately. Sometimes they were specific to the machine, like the larger gun with the button fittings. Caterpillar had those bigger grease guns for the roller frame to grease the rollers and front idlers. Ours was painted yellow from years ago. I am guessing it came, or was purchased from the dealer for that tractor.

I *believe* the ones issued with Farmall C's were Lincoln, but I can't swear to it. I have an old Lincoln lubricator that looks identical as far as I can tell, to the one in my Farmall C parts book.
