I found a neglected Allis 416H at a local boneyard and decided to adopt it! It really is a very straight old original (aside from an odd bolted on front bumper) - the guy said it ran when he parked it - but he didn?t know why the guy traded it in.

My main old mower is a Case 448.

Just curious how anyone would compare the two and/or and stories on what they liked or didn?t like or what to watch out for on the Allis.

I?ve got a tiller to go with the Allis, but only have a mowing deck with the Case.

Thanks,
Howard

I had a 314H it was a good mower and it was all original except for an engine rebuild. It even had all the chrome hub caps! I recently traded it to an Allis collector for a Case 224 he had just because I collect Case

Wish mine had headlights like yours did! ha

And out country out here on the high plains is so flat, I don't think we'll need brakes too bad...

Is the hydro transmission on these pretty solid? Are they easy to repair if they have trouble? Or hard to find parts for?

Thanks for any information,
Howard

They are good solid GT the hydros are bullet proof pretty much the same as a Simplicity parts are available and they mow very good and can really handle tall grass
