Allis-Chalmers 170 Tractor

I have a Allis Chalmbers 170 Tractor. The manual calls to use "A/C Transmission & Hydraulic Power Fluid 821" in the transmission and hydraulic system. Can you use something else that is cheaper in price and what would it be? Thanks Dennis

PEAK Performance Universal Tractor Fluid, I know this brand states on the bucket that it repalaces AC PF821 because I use it, I"m sure there are several other brands of universal tractor fluid that also are compatible, the applications should be listed on the back of the bucket. Most of the universals meet SAE 10 W 30, API SF/CC and GL4.

All your implement dealers oil with their name on the pail will say distributed by. This means someone else manufactured the oil. Would probably surprise you how many different colored pails come of the same line when filling them.
