Allis Chalmers 333 planter

I’m setting up a allis chalmers 333 planter with 8 #74 row units set on 18”
I have never used this planter before
Does anyone have any suggestion on plate size and sprocket configuration
Thanks for any help

I’m not much help other than those were not so common but well thought of around here in their day.

While waiting for a good reply, what crops do you plan to use it for, since you asked about plate size? All corn, or beans, some of the unusual stuff? If corn 18 inch would be a little unusual, do you get small or large rounds, flats, or the not as well graded stuff we seem to get these days? Are you on dry ground with lower populations or shooting for 275 bu yields and 35k planting rates? Same idea would apply to beans or other, It will help others help you.

That's gonna be a tough one. There are several pages in the manual for sprocket combinations and seed disc options. I don't think any of them are for 18 inch rows. Best get a manual and a calculator and figure it out for yourself.
