ALLIS-CHALMERS AND BUDA 1953 TO 1960 ??

I know A-C bought Buda in 1953. My question(s) are related to the B/D-230 and then later G/D-230 and G/D-262 engines. I assume A-C made gasoline versions of the early generation 262 family engines, but never used them themselves until the D-19 farm tractor in late 60/early 1961. Early D-262's used in the D-17 diesel had the water pump bolted to the cylinder head. From late 1960 onward the block and head were changed and the water pump was bolted to the block. Did Cockshutt ever use an early Allis gas G-262 with the water pump bolted to the head ??

If they did, I've never seen one from the factory. More common is using the AC 262 to replace a tired 230 or 273 Buda.

COCKSHUTT parted company with ALLIS CHALMERS as an engine supplier in 1958.... so there were never any G Series engines installed in NEW COCKSHUTT Tractors
