Allis Chalmers Decals

Can anyone tell me what determines whether a D15 Series II
would have plain cream decals or decals with chrome on them for the hood? Thanks

Norm Swinford 's Allis Chalmerz Farm Equipment 1914-1985, "appearance changes on the Series II included the wide cream collered hood decals, fender mounted headlights, oval muffler and taller fenders to accomidate larger tires."
So as I understand it ALL D15 series II's, (all the D15's built after SN 13001) had the decal, not the metal plates.
I will also add that in order to have the metal plates, the hood must have several small holes in it to allow the mounting of the side pannel.
Finaly, if you have a series II, I feel your pain in that my Dad has a Series II that Id like to repaint, but the extreamly high price of D15 decals deters me alot. For $60, I may just mask over the originals, clean/paint the rest of the hood, then use a paint brush and Had paint the cream/white and black to freshen up the decals!
