Allis Chalmers Disk

Back in the mid 50's, I used a neighbor's AC disk. It was a 7 or 8 ft. implement, and he pulled it with a WD. It wasn't a transport type, but was very slick if you got bogged down. You just pulled a rope that released the gangs and they went straight, so you could pull out of trouble. Would any of you know what model that disk might be?

I have one of those AC 7 1/2 ft pull type discs. It has been used hard & put away wet. Don't know the model #, although I might have the original book-My Dad bought it new with the WD & 2-bottom plow in 1950. I'd love to buy a new disc just like it tomorrow (today but this is Sunday).

Have no idea about a model number, but Dad had one in the late 50s- was 15 feet wide, single gang of disks. That"s why we could pull it with the WD45 or the WD. Rolled it down the gravel road, (no transport wheels)- pulled the rope and backed up to set the angle, got into a wet spot and hopefully could pull the rope again to straighten out the gang and get out. Each field tractor always had a chain on board! Only used it to cut sod- always used a field cultivator to work down the fields. Usually used it "double-disking"-- each pass, just followed the middle of the previous pass. Single pass did not cut much- too light!.
